Representative Masek, Chairman, convened the House Special                     
Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs meeting at 2:00 p.m.

Committee members present at the call to order were Representatives            
Masek, Ryan, Nicholia (via teleconference) and Mulder (via                     
teleconference).  Other legislators present were Representatives

Representative Masek gave a brief overview of the Miller's Reach               
wildfire and stated that the committee would ask questions that                
were gathered from the public.                                                 
                                                                               
MARK BERTELS, Initial Attack Fire Suppression Foreman, Division of             
Forestry, Department of Natural Resources, answered the committee's            
questions on the Miller's Reach wild fire.
